What is it about colorful buildings that is so alluring? Whether it’s an entire city or just a street, people around the world are inevitably drawn to colorful places. Perhaps it’s a reminder that something as small as a few colorful coats of paint can make us stop and smile. Whatever the reason, you won’t want to miss Rue Crémieux if you’re visiting Paris. Located in the 12th Arrondissement, it’s a short walk from Place de la Bastille and Gare de Lyon. This cobblestone, pedestrian-only street dates back to the 1800’s and still serves as a residential area. The whimsical colors and trompe l’oeil paintings show a different side of Paris than most of us are used to seeing.

Rue Crémieux is somewhat far from most of Paris’s main attractions; however, it’s a short and easy ride on the Metro. It’s quietly tucked away, between bustling city streets, which makes it easy to miss. Have a map pulled up, or you might not find it! Because of it’s location, it has remained a somewhat hidden gem. By no means is it a secret–it will probably pop up on any list of ‘must-see’ Parisian Streets. Nonetheless, it hasn’t become overcrowded just yet. We saw a few other tourists and some residents, but it was nothing compared to the rest of the city! Do yourself a favor and walk, or twirl, down the most colorful street in Paris.

  8. Once you leave the city centre, you explore the true beauty of that city. Those colourful buildings make that even more attractive! Also it looks good in PHOTOS 🙂 I really love your midi blush skirt, it is so pretty!
